The Youth Animation Project

This award winning program builds the confidence and resiliency needed in order for youth to set and achieve their goals, by using animation as a tool to build valuable life and employability skills.

"Each year I look forward to being invited to the screening of the animations. I am always excited and impressed with the hard work and dedication these young adults put into their work. This program gives the participants an opportunity to focus their creative energies to craft animations relating to youth, action and the environment.
-Kent Hehr, MLA Calgary Buffalo

The Aboriginal Youth Animation Project

Recognized as a positive step towards building sustainable community, our programs equip youth with fundamental life, teamwork, creative thinking, and personal management skills while maintaining a focus on traditional Aboriginal values, culture, language, and identity.

The places AYAP has taken me, and the people that I’ve met in the process, has taught me a lot about my culture and my land. Thanks to this program I can look back on my ancestry with pride, dignity and a sense of knowledge.

-Diana Hellson, Past Participant
